Panthers Under New Management
Posted by: wildairraid on 2010-05-29
The Carolina Panthers made an abrupt change after their 41-6 Week 15 Loss to the Falcons. The Team Owner 'cleaned house' and hired a new GM, WilAirRaid.
Jerry Richardson, the owner of the franchise had this to say when asked about his change at GM, "WildAirRaid brings experience to the organization that will lead to insight into personell decisions, along with competitive gamecalling and gameplaying. We believe that WildAirRaid will right the franchise in the remaining weeks of the season and retool the roster to make the Panthers competitive during the next season."
The New GM believes that the Panthers have "a very stable [offensive] line for next season", citing the fact that all of next year's starters on the offensive line will come from in-house.
Bridges provides a great young quarterback to base the Franchise off of for years to come, as he is only 22 with almost two years of NFL experience behind him. Bridges, according to WildAirRaid's talent evaluators, has a very strong and accurate arm with plenty of wiggle ability in case he has to create outside the pocket.
WildAirRaid was also impressed by the Panther's defense, "The defense is very versatile and the array of good players at all positions allow us to move between 3-4, 4-3, Nickel, and Dime sets at ease while still having great players on the field. This allows us to have a very experienced defense that can normally outmatch any offensive set thrown at them."
In terms of personnell moves the New GM plans to make, WildAirRaid was vague, yet telling, "We may want to pick up a yong defensive lineman before the season ends in Free Agency, and we want to look to trade some players during the beginning of the offseason to pick up another first round pick."
The Panthers currently have two First Rounders for next season (according to the Franchise File), and are looking to pick up another first round pick by moving some skill players.
Rumor has it that offseason contract issues at the Running Back position will cause one of the two top backs to be moved along with others in a draft pick deal.
A completed swap will give the Panthers Three First Round Picks, and 6 picks in the top 100 in the draft. With that type of rebuilding power, GM WildAirRaid is "confident the Panthers will be able to contend for a playoff spot and contend into the playoffs" next season.
